Accessibility Statement

We believe everyone should be able to use our website, regardless of ability. Accessibility is not just a compliance requirement — it improves the experience for every guest.

We work continuously to ensure our website meets the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and conforms with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

This statement applies to the hotel's website.

Our approach

Accessibility is owned jointly by the hotel, Nordic Hotels & Resorts, and our platform provider. Our work includes automated testing, continuous review and user testing to identify and address issues on an ongoing basis.

Compliance status

Our website partially meets the requirements of WCAG 2.1 Level AA. A full audit has been completed against 96 accessibility criteria based on the Swedish Public Employment Service's accessibility checklist.

Summary of accessibility status

Of 96 criteria, 68 (70.8%) are fully met and 15 (15.6%) are partially met.

Only 1 criterion (1.0%) is not fully met, at WCAG Level A — consolidated error message summary in forms.

At the EU directive's target level (WCAG 2.1 AA), no hard non-compliance issues remain — only areas of ongoing improvement.

Improvement work is ongoing in collaboration with our platform provider.

Known issues on the hotel website

The following issues have been identified through an audit of our website and are part of our ongoing improvement work together with our platform provider.

Items not yet met

  • When submitting a form with multiple errors, a consolidated summary of all errors is not shown at the top of the form. Remediation is planned and can be introduced into the platform. (WCAG 3.3.1, Level A)

For users with visual impairments and/or reduced colour vision

  • Text contrast against background may in isolated cases fall below 4.5:1 — primarily when a client has changed background colour or used specific brand colours in certain combinations. (WCAG 1.4.3, Level AA, partially met)
  • Icons without text (e.g. mobile menu icon and social media icons) partially rely on colour and shape as the only visual indicator. (WCAG 1.4.1, Level A, partially met)
  • Contrast for component state changes (focus, hover) has not been exactly verified against the 3:1 requirement in all brand colour combinations. (WCAG 1.4.11, Level AA, partially met)
  • Icon contrast has not been exactly verified against the 3:1 requirement in all brand colour combinations. (WCAG 1.4.11, Level AA, partially met)

For users with motor impairments

  • The mobile "hamburger" menu item is coded as a structural element rather than a <button> element. Functions but can be improved for assistive technology support. (WCAG 1.3.1, Level A, partially met)
  • Custom code on certain buttons may in rare cases create keyboard traps. Ongoing verification is in place. (WCAG 2.1.2, Level A*, partially met)
  • Visible focus state generally works well but may be negatively affected by custom code on specific components. (WCAG 2.4.7, Level AA, partially met)

For users with cognitive difficulties

  • Invisible content is generally also hidden from screen readers with aria-hidden, but usage is sparing and all expandable components have not been fully verified. (WCAG 1.1.1, Level A, partially met)
  • Pre-recorded video may in isolated cases create flashing effects — videos are assessed individually. (WCAG 2.3.1, Level A*, partially met)
  • Text spacing can be technically adjusted per WCAG requirements, but individual subpages may show edge cases where adjustment does not fully work. (WCAG 1.4.12, Level AA, partially met)

Forms and error handling

  • For inline validation of form fields, the browser's standard validation is used instead of aria-invalid marking on invalid fields. (WCAG 3.3.1, Level A, partially met)
  • Required fields are marked in code but not visually indicated as required by default. Users are however warned when attempting to submit a form without required information. (WCAG 3.3.2, Level A, partially met)
  • Forms do not automatically begin with a text explaining how required fields are marked. This can be introduced. (WCAG 3.3.2, Level A, partially met)
  • Forms lack an intermediate step where users can preview and proofread data before submission. Users can however go back and modify information before final submission. (WCAG 3.3.4, Level AA, partially met)
  • Success messages after form submission do not always use role="status" for correct announcement to screen readers. Remediation is planned. (WCAG 4.1.3, Level A, partially met)

How this statement was prepared

This statement is based on a structured audit of the website against 96 accessibility criteria (WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA, with additional Swedish criteria from the Public Employment Service's accessibility checklist). The review covers both automated testing and manual verification using keyboard, screen reader, and browser developer tools.
